307 Scotia St
For my partner Irina and I, this is our favorite place to have a coffee and tea date. Offering an excellent selection of breakfast bites, sandwiches and wraps it is a great choice for something light before a long day of hiking, kayaking, or even driving. For those with a sweeter tooth, their baked goods are truly divine. Also give them a call if you need a local event catered!
223 Columbia St
In operation since 1942 this family owned and operated business in the heart of Schrieber has kept the local population happily fed for generations. Although a new family now runs the business I have not noticed a change in quality. Their butcher shop in particular offers an excellently curated and crafted selection.
7 Beach Rd
Located on the cozy 9-hole Aguasabon Golf Course, right up the road from the newly and beautifully renovated Terrace Bay Beach, this fully licensed restaurant has been highly recommended to me by some trusted local friends. I’ll give you my two cents once I check them out!
522 Trans-Canada Hwy #11-17
With a new expanded and convenient location directly on the Trans-Canada Highway Ducky’s is the quintessential diner experience with a modern flair. Their fried chicken sandwich is, without hyperbole, one of the best I have ever had and that quality is consistent throughout the menu. Keep an eye out for weekly specials and give this place a try. You will not be disappointed!
40 Kingsway
Located conveniently on the highway, this eatery, gas station and convenience store is a one-stop shop for all your traveling needs. Owned and operated by local Morgan Houstan and specializing in burgers, poutine, fries, and appetizers, The Golden Rail is truly comfort food for the soul. My personal favorite is the Morgantor, though it is not for the faint of heart ;)
3 Simcoe Plaza
A classic restaurant that has been operating for over 20 years, Drifter’s offers high quality plates at very reasonable prices. A great place to meet friends and family or to just have a quiet beer and watch some sports, Drifter’s has you covered. Try the Chicken Caesar Wrap, it's my jam!
155 Railway St
Originally established in 1937 Zechner’s has been a pillar of the Nipigon community for nearly a century. One step inside and you will quickly learn the secret to their success. From perfectly stocked shelves with an elevated selection to friendly, kind staff which will both bag your groceries and help you carry them out; Zechner’s offers a true feeling of nostalgia.

On the eastern outskirts of Schrieber and sitting in front of the beautiful Rongie Lake is a long standing local staple. When you walk in the Jouberts treat you like family and you can tell their food is cooked with love. Offering a varied menu of favorites there is something for everyone at The Hungry Moose!
23 Simcoe Plaza
This family-owned Chinese restaurant has been operating for well over 30 years. I have great memories of going here with my mum when I was a small child. I haven’t been since I moved back to the area but I’m looking forward to popping by in the next few weeks. Will update soon :)
